A Message from Kirk

KW Motorsports is a professional drag racing team which was founded in Altus, Oklahoma in 2005. In 2008, we contracted Jim Salemi of G-Force Race Cars to build a brand-new 1968 Firebird, with a supercharged 526 Alan Johnson Hemi. My crewmembers, Adam and Copus, were more than up to the task of learning what a blower car wants. We had a considerable amount of success winning 7 of the 11 races we entered. Entering into 2009 we decided to take the next step and run at the professional level. Competing in the extremely competitive NHRA Pro Modified class, we learned very quickly that we still had a lot to learn. Operating on a fraction of most other teams' budgets, we were fortunate enough to qualify at every event we entered. At the final race of the year, in Las Vegas, we were awarded the Rookie of the Year for our efforts.

Looking long and hard at the upcoming 2010 NHRA and ADRL seasons, we decided on several levels that the place for us is ADRL’s ever-popular Pro Extreme class. With cars capable of running 3.6 second elapsed times at over 200 miles per hour in the 1/8th mile, we knew we had to step our program up. We have done just that by becoming part of a two-car team, with 30-year drag racing veteran, Mike Stawicki. We are honored to say that we will be running out of the same pit with Mike. Even though we will retain the torque converter, we have acquired a new PSI screw blower. By utilizing power from MSR (Mike Stawicki Racing), Jon Salemi’s impeccable tuning ability, and our track-proven, deadly consistent chassis from Jim Salemi’s G-Force Race Cars, we feel we will be a force to be reckoned with.
